At Changi Cove, sustainability is integral to how we design and operate. Located alongside the Changi tree conservation area, our spaces are shaped by the natural environment and guided by responsible practices. From preserving heritage trees to adopting energy and water efficient solutions, our approach supports a comfortable stay while reducing our environmental impact.
Changi Cove is Green Mark certified and has also attained the Platinum Super Low Energy (SLE) certification, recognising the hotel’s exemplary performance in energy efficiency and sustainable building design.
Changi Cove is equipped with 433 rooftop solar panels that generate clean, renewable energy, offsetting approximately 24% of the hotel’s annual energy consumption and reducing reliance on grid electricity.
Energy efficiency is further enhanced through high-performance glazing with 3M™ Sun Control Film to minimise heat gain while maximising natural daylight. The hotel also features 98% energy-efficient LED lighting and motion sensors in public washrooms for demand-controlled usage. Water-efficient fixtures and recycling facilities in public areas complement these initiatives, supporting responsible and sustainable daily operations.
Changi Cove is situated at the edge of the Changi Tree Conservation Area, with its architecture thoughtfully designed to complement the rustic character of the surrounding landscape and integrate signature heritage trees.
Developed in close consultation with NParks, 315 trees were preserved during the construction phase, including a Common Pulai tree estimated to be over 160 years old within the premises. The extensive greenery helps absorb heat, shade hard surfaces, and enhance air quality through natural evaporative transpiration.
Open corridors and expansive windows promote natural ventilation and daylight, reducing reliance on air-conditioning and artificial lighting.
Water-saving filters are installed in all guestroom handbasin taps and showerheads, while motion-activated lighting in staircases supports demand-based energy management. Bathroom amenities are presented in sustainable packaging, aligning guest comfort with environmentally responsible choices.
